The Absinthe Abel Bresson is a replica of the first and therefore oldest Absinthe, which was distilled in France in the famous Absinthe town Fougerolles. It was Abel Bresson, who was the first distillery with the same name in 1839 in Fougerolles: Abel Bresson founded the distillery. This high-quality Absinthe quickly became known and successful throughout France, so that Abel Bresson became the French market leader for aperitifs and digestifs and later took over the distilleries of Edouard Pernod in Pontarlier and Couvet. The latter should be a surprise for many. This replica of the historic Absinthe Abel Bresson is now produced by the Devoille distillery to revive this venerable name and brand. Absinthe Abel Bresson combines anise, fennel and wormwood in a great taste, which nevertheless highlights the bitter base note of the great wormwood. Similar to bitter chocolate. Furthermore: angelica root, coriander, calamus and lemon balm provide a spicy addition to the overall taste. The brown-greenish coloration is enhanced by herbs such as: Little wormwood, hyssop, lemon balm and nettle. Since 72% vol. Alcohol crown the content of the bottle, which is held in check by a plastic cork, we recommend dilution with ice-cold water in a ratio of 1:3-5. Considering the slightly bitter taste of wormwood, some tasters will be able to help themselves with the preparation with a sugar cube.
