The Absinthe Pierrot was first a niche product, as it was only enjoyed regionally around Paris in the world of circus, entertainment and finally art. But when the success of the Absinthe Pierrot increased from 1906 onwards, it was possible to extend its distribution to the whole of France.
The taste of the Absinthe Pierrot clearly and dominantly shows the aniseed note, which is complemented by the fennel and wormwood component (great wormwood) only suitably. To round off the overall taste, calamus, lemon balm, coriander and angelica are added.
The natural golden-yellow colouring is mainly achieved by small wormwood, which is reinforced at the end by herbs of lemon balm, hyssop and nettle.
